Russian translations of the book “San Zi Jing” in the 18th century as a re ection of the evolution of translation practice in Russia

Abstract

The article is a comparison of three Russian translations of the Chinese book “San Zi Jing.” These are different translations of the same text made in different periods of the 18th century: the reign of Peter the Great, the 1740’s and the late 1770’s. There are many differences among them, and these differences reflect the evolution of translation practice in Russia in the 18th century.
